Create and Add a Tab (Navigation Item) to a Page

You can add tabs to easily navigate to the tasks and views important for your business. For example, you can add a tab for setting up block codes or defining the buyback process. You can also create a tab in case it is not available in the list for addition.

Note:

If you do not see a particular tab, add it to the page layout. If it is not on the page layout, you must add it to the Custom Objects first. For more information on adding tabs, see the following Create a Tab (Navigation Item) for a Page and Add a Tab (Navigation Item) to the Page Layout sections.

Create a Tab (Navigation Item) for a Page

  1. Log in to your Salesforce account.

  2. Go to  (Setup) > Setup.

  3. In the Quick Find box, search for Tabs and click it.

  4. In the Custom Object Tabs, click New.

  5. Select the Object that you want to add a tab for.

    For example, Block Codes or Prepayment Penalty Configuration.

    Note:

    Each tab on the contract page corresponds to a single object.

  6. Specify a Tab Style to identify the tab with.

  7. Optionally, provide a short Description.

  8. Click Next.

  9. Complete the Step 2. Add to Profiles as per the instructions on the page and then click Next.

  10. Complete the Step 3. Add to Custom Apps as per the instructions on the page and then click Save.

    The new tab gets added to the Custom Tabs and is displayed on the horizontal navigation bar.

Add a Tab (Navigation Item) to the Page Layout

  1. Log in to your Salesforce account.

  2. Click (Personalize your nav bar) on the horizontal navigation bar. The Edit Q2 Loan Servicing App Navigation Items window is displayed, listing the tabs or the Navigation Items available for use.

  3. Click Add More Items.

  4. From the list of Available Items, in the Search all items box, enter the name of the required item to be added and then click on the corresponding item. For example, if you require the Prepayment Penalty Configuration navigation item, then, in the Search all items box, enter Prepayment Penalty Configuration, and  then click as highlighted in the following image:

  5. Click Add 1 Nav Item if you have added 1.

    This displays the updated list of the Navigation Items.

    Note:

    If you have added 2, then click Add 2 Nav Item, and so on.

  6. Click Save.

    The new tab or the navigation bar is displayed on the navigation bar. For example, the added Prepayment Penalty Configurations item gets displayed on the navigation bar as highlighted in the following image:
