Create an approval configuration
Earlier, whenever an application was updated, an approval instance used to be triggered, and if the reviewer rejected it, there was no provision to restore the previous value of the application record. Now, the enhanced approval feature is introduced to restore the previous value of the application record when an approval instance is rejected. In case the approval instance is approved, the current state persists.
With this feature, there is also a provision to lock the application record till approval is provided. Post-approval or rejection of approval instance, the application can be updated.
The out-of-the-box approval process functionality supported by Q2 Origination uses the Enhanced Approval feature. When you install the Q2 Origination package and all other dependent packages, an Approval Configuration is automatically created. However, the Approval Configuration is set to inactive. If you want to use the Out of the box approval process functionality supported by Q2 Origination, you need to enable the Approval Configuration and set it up.
To enable the Enhanced Approval feature, edit the existing approval configuration and do not create a new approval configuration. If more than one approval configurations exist, ensure that there is only one approval configuration marked as active.
