Creating permission sets
A permission set is a collection of permissions and settings that provides users the access to various tools and functions. The settings and permissions available in permission sets are also found in user profiles, however, permission sets can extend the functional access to users without having to change their profiles.
For example, if you want to provide access to a custom object to users across multiple profiles, you can create a permission set, enable the required permissions for the object, and assign the permission set to the user profiles. It is not required to change the user profiles or create a profile for a single use case. Similarly, you can assign permission sets to specific users.
Prerequisites
The following is the prerequisite to creating a permission set:
- A Salesforce account is created.

If you select --None--, you can assign this permission set to any user as long as the enabled permissions are allowed in the user's license.
