Create Approval Queue

When an approval instance gets generated in the system, approval rights can be given to a reviewer or a group of reviewers. Prior to the Titanium release, there was no provision to associate an approval group (Queue) as a reviewer in Approval Definition. With the Titanium release, applicable users can be added to a queue who can review the approval instance. Q2 Origination has been enhanced to add a provision to associate a Queue as a Reviewer. To enable this, “Use Queue For Reviewers” should be selected on the Approval Definition page. 

This section describes how to create a queue and add reviewers to it for the approval process. Approval queues help prioritize, distribute, and assign approvals to a group of reviewers who share workloads. The members of the queue can take ownership of any approval instance in a queue. When an approval instance is generated, based on the cadence and queue's approval limits, a reviewer can manually assign the approval instance to themselves or assign it to another reviewer from the list of reviewers available in the queue.

Prerequisites

Before you proceed to create an approval queue, ensure that the following prerequisite is met:

• Users to be added as reviewers to a queue are created.

Steps

To create an approval queue:

1. Log in to your Salesforce account.
   

2. Go to (Setup)> Setup.
   

3. In the Quick Find box, search for queues.
   

4. Select Queues.

5. On the Queues page, select New.

6. Perform the following actions:

   Field Name	Action and Information
   Label	Specify a unique name for the approval queue or group. When approval is generated, the approvals instance will be grouped with the specified name, and the same name will appear on the Approvals tab on the Application Dashboard.
   Queue Name	This field is auto-generated based on the value of the Label field and is used by API and managed packages.
   Queue Email	Specify the email address of an individual or a distribution list.
   Send Email to Members	If this checkbox is selected, a notification is sent out to the queue members when an object is assigned to a queue.

7. In the Supported Objects section, from the Available Objects list, select the objects name that this queue is authorized to review, and then select Add to move the selected objects to the Selected Objects list.

8. In the Queue Members section, from the Available Members list, select all the users who are required to review the approval instance and select Add to move to the Selected Members list.

9. Select Save.
