Customer Profiles
In Q2 Origination, there are two ways in which customers are represented:
Contact
Account
A contact is an individual borrower. An account is a business, which can have multiple contacts associated with it. Each contact in an account is a role or a party, whether internal or external stakeholder. The party type categorizes the contacts, for example, employee, supplier, loan processor, or loan officer. An application for any type of funding must be associated with a contact to indicate an individual borrower or an account to indicate a business or commercial borrower.
Q2 Origination release 2.1003 and later use the single concept of Account. The account represents both the individuals and a business. You can select the Use Contact as Account org parameter in the Custom Settings to enable this. This setting also enables the newer application behavior and features, such as the definition of loan covenants, credit memos and change memos, and the option to use a custom interface theme.
